অধ্যায় 2: Scoring Override
Introduction
The previous chapter introduced the role of the referees and the structure of a VEX V5 Robotics Competition event. Now that you have reviewed those foundations, this chapter begins applying them to the 2026–2027 game: VEX V5 Robotics Competition Override.
Before learning the details of scoring, take time to watch the official Override game introduction video shown below. The video provides a helpful overview of the elements of the game. As you watch, focus on the major ways teams earn points and the game elements referees will need to evaluate during and after a match.
Override
VEX V5 Robotics Competition Override is played on a 12-foot by 12-foot field by four robots divided between two alliances: one Red Alliance and one Blue Alliance. The object of the game is to score more points than the opposing alliance by stacking Pins and Cups on goals, setting Toggles to claim Yellow Pins, and ending the match with robots in the Midfield.
For both Scorekeeper and Head Referees, understanding scoring is essential. Scoring decisions affect match results, Autonomous Bonus decisions, Autonomous Win Points, rankings, and how some rule violations are evaluated. Referees do not need to memorize every possible stack combination, but they do need to understand how scoring statuses are determined, when scores are evaluated, and how to support other referees in making accurate scoring decisions.
In this Chapter
In this chapter, you will learn how points are earned in Override, how to evaluate example scoring statuses, and how to approach close scoring decisions consistently in Head-to-Head Matches.
The time to complete this chapter is approximately 60 minutes.
