Hold a Robot Olympic Day with VEX!
In this Live Session, Audra shares ideas for creating cross-curricular projects with STEM at their center. Organized around a ‘Robot Olympic Day’ project, she demonstrates two ‘events’ that could be done using VEX 123, VEX GO, or VEX IQ. First, a ‘synchronized swimming’ activity is shown, where students would challenge their spatial reasoning skills to code multiple robots to move in mirrored or symmetrical ways. Then, a ‘robot triathlon’ activity is shown using a Code Base robot to complete three tasks on a Field using both coding and driver control with the Drive Tab in VEXcode GO. The session concludes with various cross-curricular connections that can be made to extend the project from STEM into other core curricular areas.
