(uplifting music)
Hello and welcome to the VEX Classroom. My name is Lauren, and in this video, I'm going to walk you through how to start teaching with VEX. Whether you're teaching with 123, EXP, GO, IQ, or any of the platforms, the first thing we want to do after we get our kit or bundle is to get certified by taking one of our free intro courses in PD+.
Now, what's so great about taking one of these free intro courses is that after I get certified, I also gain access to our PD+ community. Here, you can have discussions and ask questions with VEX experts, as well as other educators in the VEX community. Let's take a look at where those free intro courses are in PD+.
Once I'm logged into PD+, from my dashboard, I can see on the left-hand side where the free intro courses are located. I select that and gain access to all of the different intro courses for each of the platforms that we have. Once you've gone through and gotten certified by taking one of our free intro courses, the next step is to look at what we call the teach pages.
We have these pages for each of our different products in our continuum. What's great about them is that these pages will walk you through all of the different curricular resources that we have for teaching with VEX. Let's take a look at the resources found at educators.vex.com, which houses all the links for the teach pages.
Alright, once I navigate to educators.vex.com, I can scroll down and see the teach page link for each of the platforms available in our continuum. Let's look at IQ as an example. Once I select IQ and scroll down the page a little bit, the first thing I see is a video. This video will walk you through all the different resources listed on the page, what they are, and how you can use them in your classroom. For a breakdown of these resources, I highly suggest watching this video found on the teach page.
Finally, if you need even more support, you can upgrade your license to an all-access PD+ license. This will give you access to even more materials in PD+, including one-on-one sessions where you can book time with a VEX expert and discuss any materials you need tailored directly to you and your students in your class. You'll also get access to VEX masterclasses, which are video-based lessons similar to the type of learning you would get in an in-person professional development session, except it's self-paced, and you can do it in the comfort of your own home.
I hope that all of this information was helpful as we talk about how to get started teaching with VEX, and I will see you in another video.
