Teaching Math with Robotics
In this Live Session, Lauren demonstrates how coding a robot can help give students authentic practice of math concepts. She uses math, like the Pythagorean Theorem and trigonometry, to calculate the turn angles and distances the robot needs to travel in order to drive autonomously from point A to point B. Lauren first shows the math that is needed, then how to apply that math to a coding project in VEXcode VR using features like Operator blocks to build her calculations into the code. She then applies the same concepts to a physical IQ BaseBot.
